Time and Temporal Data Management Operationalization in a Temporal GIS

The objective of this technical report is twofold. It gives an introduction to the notions and operationalization of time and temporal data in the context of data modeling and databases. The more philosophical aspects and conceptions of time is not discussed herein. Secondly, we introduce the previously presented time and temporal concepts in the realm of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or more precisely sketch a temporal framework for a comprehensive temporal geographic data model.
